"While in the midst of writing my draft manuscript for my Christian Living memoir, this unforeseeable, yet tone-setting, event happened earlier this year. I accompanied my son during a trip to Orlando, Florida as he was selected (out of thousands of high school applicants nationwide) to participate in the Disney Dreamers Academy 2017 program, as hosted by Walt Disney World, Mr. Steve Harvey, and Essence Magazine. I simply do not believe in coincidences, as both "timing" and "opportunity" aligned during this exciting endeavor and I pursued the chance to tell Mr. Harvey, the Steve Harvey Morning Show crew, and the other chaperones news about my newest literary projects that's based on my extraordinary, real-life story. After I was done, Mr. Harvey leaned into his microphone and said, "The doors of the church are now open" and other parents expressed how they were moved, which by far is one of my greatest highlights of 2017." ~ Cherie D.
